Ganjam Tragedy: CM Majhi Announces ₹4 Lakh Aid

Bhubaneswar/Ganjam: A tragic road accident near Ladkapalli Square in Purushottampur, Ganjam district, claimed six lives and left several injured when a bus collided with an auto‑rickshaw.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed deep sorrow over the incident, extending condolences to the bereaved families and wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

He announced an ex gratia of Rs 4 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for the next of kin of each deceased.

Majhi directed officials to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured and assured that the government stands firmly with the affected families, promising all necessary assistance.

District officials visited the hospital to coordinate care, while police have launched an investigation to trace the bus driver who fled the scene.

The accident has sparked widespread grief across the region, highlighting ongoing concerns about road safety in Odisha.
