FarmX Proposes ₹1,000 Cr Agri-Tech Hub in Odisha
FarmX, a Silicon Valley-based agri-tech innovator, has submitted a ₹1,000 crore investment proposal to the Odisha government to establish an advanced manufacturing and export hub.
The project aims to produce autonomous electric tractors, AI-driven farming software, robotics, and intelligent agricultural systems.
A delegation from FarmX met Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and senior officials to discuss the plan.
The proposed facility is expected to generate 1,120 direct and 3,700 indirect jobs, with an annual capacity of 1,000 autonomous tractors and 100,000 field-sensing units for domestic and global markets.
FarmX also plans to introduce its open-architecture platform, FarmMap, integrating satellite imagery, OSMO soil-moisture sensors, and an Odia-language mobile app.
This system will provide real-time farm intelligence, automated irrigation, and optimised use of water, fertilisers, and pesticides.
The Odisha government has emphasised its commitment to attracting innovators in AI, semiconductors, and electric mobility to boost deep-tech adoption and create high-skilled employment.
The FarmX proposal is currently under review, with expectations of leveraging Odisha’s industrial infrastructure and policy support to access both domestic and international markets.
