ED Raids Residences of Ganjam BJD Leader Hrushikesh Padhi in Assets Case

Berhampur: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday carried out simultaneous raids at multiple properties linked to BJD leader and contractor Hrushikesh Padhi in Ganjam district.

According to officials, searches were conducted at Padhi’s ancestral home in Sheragada, his son’s residence in Jayaprakash Nagar, and another property in Gandhi Nagar, Berhampur. Armed police were deployed at all locations to restrict entry and maintain security.

The raids are part of an ongoing investigation into allegations that Padhi amassed disproportionate assets beyond his known sources of income.

Padhi, who currently serves as Vice‑President of the Ganjam district unit of the BJD, is associated with several business ventures, including a petrol pump and a pipe showroom.

Authorities have not disclosed the value of assets under scrutiny. Officials stated that details will be shared only after the searches conclude.

The ED’s action has sparked political attention in the region, given Padhi’s senior role in the ruling party’s district unit. The investigation remains ongoing.
