Dharmendra Pradhan Urges Urgent Repair of Sambalpur–Kataka NH‑55
Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan has appealed to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, to take immediate steps to repair the Sambalpur–Kataka stretch of National Highway‑55.
The highway, a crucial link between western Odisha and the coastal region, has deteriorated severely due to heavy rainfall and high traffic.
Large potholes, damaged stretches, and waterlogging have made commuting hazardous, with frequent accidents and traffic disruptions reported.
Pradhan emphasised the strategic importance of NH‑55 for passenger movement and freight transport, urging Gadkari to personally intervene and direct authorities to carry out urgent restoration work.
He stressed that timely repairs are essential to ensure safe travel and smooth movement of essential goods across the state.
