Devotee’s Death During Darshan Sparks Concern at Puri Temple
Puri, Odisha: A 75‑year‑old devotee, Nilakantha Dash of Alarpur village in Jajpur district, collapsed while having darshan at the Jagannath Temple in Puri.
Temple police immediately shifted him to the First Aid Centre and later to the District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Dash reportedly had a history of heart and lung ailments, which are suspected to be the cause of his sudden collapse.
His wife, who accompanied him, confirmed his medical condition.
Police have initiated legal formalities, and a postmortem will determine the exact cause of death.
