Delhi Court Releases Three CJP Leaders on One-Year Peace Bond
New Delhi: A Delhi court has ordered the release of three leaders of the Campaign for Judicial Propriety (CJP), namely Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das, and Ashutosh Ranka, subject to a one-year condition that they maintain peace and refrain from activities that could disturb public order.
The three leaders appeared before an Executive Magistrate in Delhi Cantonment following their detention during protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The protest was linked to allegations concerning irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists.
According to reports, the leaders were taken into preventive custody during the second day of the demonstration.
They were reportedly detained shortly after arriving in Delhi to participate in the protest.
Following judicial proceedings, the court directed their release while requiring them to adhere to a peace-bond condition for a period of one year.
The measure is intended to ensure that no activity is undertaken that may disrupt public tranquillity during the stipulated period.
The development was confirmed by Ratna Singh, who heads the CJP legal cell.
The case has drawn attention amid ongoing debates surrounding electoral roll revisions and protest rights, with supporters of the detained leaders viewing the release as a significant legal relief.
