Bhubaneswar: Interstate Truck Theft Racket Busted, Father-Son Trio Accused in Over 30 Cases

Bhubaneswar: In a major breakthrough, police have unearthed an alleged interstate truck theft racket operating across Odisha and neighbouring states.

The investigation has revealed the involvement of a father and his two sons, who allegedly played different roles in the criminal network.

According to police, the accused gained the trust of truck owners by entering into transportation and business agreements.

After securing possession of the vehicles, they allegedly diverted and sold the trucks outside Odisha, making it difficult for owners to trace them.

Investigators believe the racket had been functioning for several years.

The accused reportedly used multiple bank accounts to facilitate financial transactions linked to the sale of stolen vehicles.

The case came to light following complaints related to more than 30 missing trucks registered across different police station jurisdictions.

Acting on intelligence inputs, the Mancheswar Police arrested two suspects from Champua in Keonjhar district and launched a broader investigation into the network.

Police sources indicated that cases linked to the alleged truck theft operation have surfaced in several districts, including Bhanjanagar, Pipili, Badambadi and Boudh.

Authorities are now examining the involvement of additional associates and tracing the destinations where the stolen trucks were allegedly sold.

The investigation remains underway, with police expecting further revelations regarding the scale of the racket and the financial trail behind the operation.
