Debagada Police Seize 332 Kg Ganja from Abandoned Truck
Debagada police achieved a major breakthrough in their anti‑narcotics drive by seizing 332 kilograms of ganja from an abandoned truck in Kuradpasi village under Kundheigola police station, Reamal block.
During a late‑night patrol on Monday, officers noticed a suspicious truck (registration WB‑25‑L‑7676 from West Bengal) parked at the village entry facing Sambalpur.
A strong smell of ganja emanating from the vehicle prompted the police to keep watch overnight.
On Tuesday morning, the truck was opened in the presence of Tehsildar Bijayalaxmi Nayak, acting as magistrate.
Inside, officials discovered neatly packed consignments of ganja weighing over three quintals.
Station officer John Kujur confirmed that a case has been registered and investigations are underway to trace the origin, destination, and individuals behind the consignment.
The seizure marks one of the largest in recent months under Odisha’s NDPS enforcement efforts.
