Case Filed Against Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan Over Mountain Dew Ad in Kalahandi Court

Kalahandi, Odisha: A local court has admitted a case against Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan, along with PepsiCo and the Advertising Council of India, over a Mountain Dew advertisement alleged to have misled a minor.

The complaint, filed by Deepak Dubey of Khariar, claims his son believed the drink would enhance strength and guarantee victory in a race after watching the ad.

When the claim proved false, Dubey approached the Kalahandi Khauti Court, arguing that such advertisements create unrealistic expectations among children.

The first hearing was held on December 22, 2025, with the next scheduled for January 19, 2026.

Interestingly, Dubey has sought only one rupee in compensation, symbolising his protest against misleading advertising rather than financial gain.

Legal representation included Advocate Amit Jain for the Advertising Council, Anish Pattnayak for Salman Khan, and Kunal Behera & Associates for Hrithik Roshan and PepsiCo.

The case has sparked debate over celebrity endorsements and their influence on young audiences, raising broader questions about truth in advertising and consumer protection.
