Boudhagada Tunnel Rescue: Four Workers Saved After 12 Hours of Ordeal

Four workers trapped inside Adenigada Tunnel No. 4 on the Khordha–Balangir railway line in Boudhagada district were rescued after nearly 12 hours of struggle.

Heavy rainfall late Saturday night caused water to enter the tunnel, leaving the workers stranded.

Local residents and company officials coordinated overnight rescue efforts, using ropes and safety equipment to evacuate the trapped labourers.

By Sunday morning, all four were safely rescued and provided medical attention.

The incident underscores the risks faced by workers on infrastructure projects during monsoon conditions.

Company officials have assured that stronger safety measures will be implemented to prevent similar accidents in the future.
