Bhawanipatana Executive Engineer Arrested for Corruption

Bhubaneswar Sabar, Executive Engineer of R&B Sub‑Division Dharmagarh and in‑charge EE of R&B Division Bhawanipatana, was arrested by Odisha Vigilance in a disproportionate assets case.

Acting on credible information, Vigilance officials raided multiple locations linked to Sabar and uncovered assets far exceeding his known sources of income.

The seizures included five buildings (four multi‑storeyed), 83 acres of land across 97 plots, two farmhouses covering 17 acres, and a market complex with eight cabins.

The investigation revealed a clear mismatch between his earnings and accumulated wealth, with no satisfactory explanation provided.

Sabar has been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018 (Koraput Vigilance PS Case No.07/2026) and will be forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatana.

This arrest underscores Odisha Vigilance’s ongoing crackdown on corruption and disproportionate asset accumulation among public servants.
