Balasore Hotel Murder Case: Two Arrested in Shocking Crime
Balasore police have arrested two individuals in connection with the death of a young man inside Room 502 of Hotel Suraj under Sahadevkhunta police station.
The deceased, identified as Akash Mohant of Barajambani village, had checked into the hotel on December 25 with his acquaintances, Ramchandra Singh (22) and Jemamani Singh (27).
Investigators revealed that Ramchandra and Jemamani shared an illicit relationship. After consuming alcohol, Akash allegedly attempted to establish physical contact with Jemamani, sparking a heated confrontation.
Ramchandra reportedly pressed Akash’s neck while Jemamani held his legs, leading to his collapse. The duo fled the hotel immediately after the incident.
Akash’s wife, who was unaware of his stay, grew suspicious when she failed to reach him and received inconsistent replies from Ramchandra.
The following day, police informed her of Akash’s death. She lodged a complaint, and case number 505/25 was registered.
Police tracked Ramchandra in Betanati and later arrested Jemamani from Jajpur.
Both accused were produced in court. The case has drawn widespread attention in Odisha, highlighting issues of illicit relationships, alcohol abuse, and violent escalation.
