Akshaya Tritiya 2026 Celebrated Across Odisha with Devotion and Traditions

Bhubaneswar, April 20: Odisha observed Akshaya Tritiya 2026 with devotion, cultural enthusiasm, and deep agrarian traditions.

The festival, regarded as one of the most auspicious days in the Hindu calendar, saw widespread participation in rituals, prayers, and community celebrations.

Farmers across the state performed the traditional Akhi Muthi Anukula, ceremonially sowing seeds to mark the beginning of the agricultural season.

In Puri, the day also signaled the start of Rath Yatra preparations, with the construction of Lord Jagannath’s chariots commencing.

Devotees thronged temples for rituals, including the Chapa Khela boating ceremony at Narendra Pushkarini, while authorities ensured smooth conduct with crowd management and security measures.

The festival highlighted Odisha’s unique blend of spiritual devotion, agrarian heritage, and cultural unity.
