Two Detained in Murder of Senior BJP Leader Fakir Rana in Kalahandi
Kalahandi witnessed a shocking incident on Wednesday evening when senior BJP leader Fakir Rana was stabbed to death near the panchayat office in Madanpur Rampur.
The attack occurred around 8 pm, and Rana, husband of Karlakhunta Sarpanch Snigdha Rana, was rushed to the hospital but declared dead on arrival.
Following the incident, Sarpanch Snigdha Rana lodged a complaint naming four individuals from Karlakhunta village.
Police have detained two suspects for questioning, while two others remain absconding.
Authorities have seized the body and launched a probe into the murder, which has sparked tension in the region.
The case highlights growing concerns over political violence in Odisha’s rural areas, with investigators working to establish motive and ensure justice.
