Traffic Diversion in Bhubaneswar for 25 Days as WATCO Begins Pipeline Work

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar–Cuttack Police Commissionerate has announced a 25‑day traffic diversion from September 1 to 25, 2026, to facilitate sewerage pipeline work by WATCO between Jagamara Square and Barabari Chowk.

According to Commissioner Dr Suresh Dev Datta Singh, one lane of the affected stretch will remain closed during the project.

Vehicles heading from Jagamara to Khandagiri will be diverted via Nilakantha Nagar, while traffic towards Jagamara can continue on the same route.

Heavy vehicles, including buses and trucks, will not be allowed between Jagamara Square and Baramunda and must instead use the Nilakantha Nagar–Baramunda route.

Authorities have urged commuters to avoid the stretch, follow diversion signs, and cooperate with traffic personnel.

WATCO has been directed to spread awareness through print, electronic, and social media to minimise inconvenience.
