Suspended BJP Youth Leader Prakash Paswan Arrested in Bihar Over Rourkela Firearms Case

Rourkela Police arrested suspended BJP youth leader Prakash Paswan (35) from Samastipur, Bihar, on August 27, 2026.

Paswan had been absconding since August 14 following the Panposh Circuit House firearm seizure case.

Authorities allege that Paswan masterminded the sheltering of criminals with firearms and ammunition at the government Circuit House in Rourkela.

A non-bailable warrant had earlier been issued against him by the Panposh SDJM Court.

Paswan, formerly a state executive member of BJP Yuva Morcha, was suspended after RN Pali police arrested two criminals with firearms and live bullets from the Circuit House.

Subsequent raids led to the arrest of five more criminals with weapons.

Police are now arranging to bring Paswan back to Rourkela for interrogation, marking a significant development in the ongoing investigation.
