Shiv Marble Champions Trophy 2025 Kicks Off at Barbil Vikas Mahal—Cricket Fever Grips the Town
Barbil: The much-awaited Shiv Marble Champions Trophy 2025 begins today at Barbil Vikas Mahal with the opening clash between Oriental and GPS Enterprises.
The tournament promises excitement and competitive spirit, bringing together cricket enthusiasts from across the region.
The grand finale is scheduled for December 9, while a special exhibition match will be played on December 7 between the Municipality team and the Lawyers Association.
A total of 12 teams are participating, divided into three groups. Based on the run rate, the top two teams will qualify for the final.
The competing teams include: Oriental, GPS Enterprises, Samal Auto, Ganesh XI, AJ Fitness, Friends XI, Barbil Market, Game On, Rungta XI, Mahi 7, King Khan, and Maruti XI.
The opening ceremony will be graced by Municipality Vice-Chairperson Saraswati Naik as the chief guest.
Other dignitaries include Municipality Executive Officer Ramesh Chandra Naik, MP Representative Neelamani Mahant, MLA Representative Mohan Gupta, along with all Municipality Councillors.
Each match will be played with a 15-over format. The winner will be awarded 1 lakh and a glittering trophy, while the runner-up will receive 50,000 along with a trophy.
Individual players will also be recognised for outstanding performances.
The tournament is being organised by the Shiv Shakti Cricket Association and sponsored by Shiv Marble, under the social responsibility initiative of its founder, Balram Gupta.
