Sambalpur Honors Veer Surendra Sai with Patriotic Celebrations
Sambalpur, Odisha – The birth anniversary of legendary freedom fighter Veer Surendra Sai was observed with great patriotic fervour in Sambalpur on Thursday.
Floral tributes were offered at his statue at Jail Chowk, where dignitaries, including the District Collector and Commissioner, joined citizens to honour his memory.
Cultural programs highlighted Sai’s life, struggles, and sacrifices, reminding people of his pivotal role in India’s freedom movement.
At his birthplace, Khinda, celebrations included a Tiranga Padayatra and cultural shows, drawing large participation from locals and officials alike.
The Odisha government also announced plans to develop Khinda as a tourist destination, ensuring Sai’s legacy is preserved and promoted for future generations.
The day coincided with tributes to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, further reinforcing the spirit of patriotism and remembrance.
