Rayagada Assistant Engineer Under Vigilance Scanner for Disproportionate Assets
Odisha Vigilance has launched a major operation against Assistant Engineer Malaya Kumar Nayak of the Rural Water Supply & Sanitation Division, Kolnara Block, Rayagada, following allegations of possessing disproportionate assets beyond his known sources of income.
Acting on search warrants issued by the Special Judge (Vigilance), Berhampur, teams comprising five DSPs, six Inspectors, and supporting staff raided seven locations linked to Nayak.
These included his triple‑storeyed residence at Soundarya Nagar in Berhampur, his native house at Jagannathprasad, relatives’ houses in Buguda, his in‑laws’ residence at Kamalapur, a rented house in Rayagada, and his office chamber at Kolnara Block.
Officials examined property records, documents, and valuables to assess the scale of assets.
The investigation is part of Odisha Vigilance’s ongoing crackdown on corruption and disproportionate wealth among public servants.
