Raurkela Woman Sets Herself Ablaze Outside Lover’s House After Alleged Betrayal

Raurkela, Odisha – A shocking incident unfolded in the Bhatapada area of Raurkela when a young woman allegedly set herself ablaze outside her lover’s residence after feeling betrayed in a three‑year relationship.

According to reports, the woman had been in a relationship with Vicky Das for nearly three years.

During this period, she reportedly lent him money borrowed from others to help him during financial difficulties.

However, disputes arose between the two, leaving her emotionally distressed.

On Saturday evening, she poured kerosene on herself and attempted suicide outside Das’s house. Locals rushed to her aid and alerted police.

She was immediately taken to Ispat General Hospital’s Plastic Surgery Department, where her condition remains critical.

Police have detained one person for questioning and formed two teams to investigate whether the incident was solely a relationship dispute or involved a possible love triangle.

The victim’s family has declined to comment while the probe continues.
