Ratna Bhandar Inventory Begins at Puri Srimandir Under Justice Rath Panel

Puri, Odisha: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has commenced the long‑awaited inventory of ornaments stored in the Ratna Bhandar of Srimandir.

he exercise, scheduled for two days (31 August and 1 September 2026), is being carried out under a government‑approved Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

A high‑level committee chaired by Justice Biswanath Rath is overseeing the process, with participation from Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee, authorised servitors, the temple goldsmith, a gemologist, the Bhandar Mekap, and the Deulakaran.

The inventory involves counting and weighing rare gold ornaments of Mahaprabhu, along with diamonds, pearls, leela, and other precious stones, which will be matched against the official list prepared in 1978.

Strict security measures, including CCTV surveillance, videography, and photography, have been put in place.

The temple administration has assured devotees that darshan of the deities will continue as usual from the outer katha during the inventory work.
