Rajgangpur Police Bust IPL Betting Syndicate, ₹23.61 Lakh Seized
Rajgangpur Police have dismantled a major IPL betting syndicate in a swift operation, arresting five individuals and seizing significant assets.
Acting on intelligence, officers raided the illegal network and confiscated Rs 6 lakh in cash, five mobile phones, and froze bank accounts holding Rs 17.61 lakh, disrupting a total of Rs 23.61 lakh in betting-related funds.
A case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Odisha Prevention of Gambling Act, and Public Gambling Act.
Senior officials reiterated their zero-tolerance stance against gambling, particularly during the IPL season, when betting activities surge.
Investigators suspect the arrested men are part of a larger inter-district or inter-state syndicate, with further raids expected.
Authorities have urged citizens to avoid illegal betting apps and report suspicious activity to the police.
