Puri Temple Shuts Darshan for Rahurekha Lagi Niti
Puri: Devotees visiting the Jagannath Temple today will face a temporary closure of darshan as part of a special ritual.
The temple administration has announced that darshan will remain closed from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM on September 2, 2026 (Wednesday).
The closure is due to the observance of Rahurekha Lagi Niti, a confidential ritual performed on Bhadrab Krishna Panchami (Rekhapanchami).
During this ceremony, the golden Rahurekha, which was applied to Lord Jagannath’s face during Snana Purnima, will be re‑applied.
After the completion of the ritual, darshan will resume for devotees in the evening.
The temple administration has urged devotees to plan their visit accordingly.
