Puri School Mid‑Day Meal Horror: 30 Students Hospitalised After Lizard Found in Food

Panic gripped Aragad Government Upper Primary School in Puri district’s Delanga block after a dead lizard was discovered in the mid‑day meal served to children.

Over 30 students fell ill and were rushed to hospitals.

Six of them remain in critical condition at the Puri District Headquarters Hospital, while others received treatment at the Delanga Community Health Centre.

The shocking incident sparked outrage among parents and guardians, who gathered at the hospital demanding strict action against the cook and teachers responsible for preparing the contaminated food.

Authorities have ordered an inquiry into the lapse, raising serious questions about food safety and negligence in the mid‑day meal scheme.
