President Droupadi Murmu Begins Six-Day Odisha and Chhattisgarh Tour
Bhubaneswar, Feb 2: President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Bhubaneswar today on a special Indian Air Force aircraft, marking the start of her six-day visit to Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
At Biju Patnaik International Airport, she was warmly received by Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and senior officials.
This visit holds special significance as Murmu, the first tribal woman and the first Odia to hold India’s highest constitutional office, returns to her home state.
During her stay in Odisha, the President will attend the convocation of Fakir Mohan University in Balasore, offer prayers at the historic Biraja Temple in Jajpur, and participate in cultural programmes and public events in Puri and Mayurbhanj.
Authorities have made elaborate arrangements for security and logistics, with large public gatherings expected at several venues.
Following her Odisha engagements, President Murmu will continue her tour in Chhattisgarh, where she is scheduled to attend official programmes and interact with local communities.
Her visit underscores the deep connection between the Presidency and the people of Odisha, while also highlighting her commitment to engaging with diverse regions across India.
