Pranati Nayak Wins Silver at FIG World Challenge Cup 2026 in Tashkent
Bhubaneswar/Tashkent: Odisha gymnast Pranati Nayak has brought glory to India by clinching the silver medal in the Vault event at the FIG World Challenge Cup 2026 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Scoring 13.025 points, Nayak secured her place on the podium against strong international competitors.
This achievement adds to her illustrious career as a three‑time Asian Championship medallist (bronze in 2019, 2022, and 2025).
With this win, she becomes only the third Indian woman gymnast to earn an international medal, following in the footsteps of Dipa Karmakar and Aruna Reddy.
Chief coach Ashok Mishra praised Nayak’s dedication and consistency, calling her performance “an inspiring moment for Indian gymnastics.” Odisha Gymnastics Association secretary Ashok Sahoo described the medal as a historic milestone, highlighting Odisha’s growing presence in global gymnastics.
Nayak’s success not only elevates her personal career but also underscores Odisha’s rising standard in sports, inspiring young athletes across the nation.
