Paradip Saraswati Puja Immersion Turns Violent, Seven Injured

Paradip witnessed chaos during Saraswati Puja idol immersion on Saturday evening when a clash broke out between two local clubs over loud DJ music. The festive procession quickly turned violent, leaving seven youths injured.

According to police, the confrontation escalated when rival groups began arguing over sound arrangements.

Two of the injured sustained severe head injuries and were rushed to SCB Medical College in Cuttack for advanced treatment, while others received care at local hospitals.

Law enforcement officials immediately deployed additional forces across Paradip to prevent further escalation.

Raids are underway to trace those involved in the attack. Authorities suspect the violence may have roots in earlier disputes between the groups.

The incident has sparked concerns about law and order in the port town, with questions raised over whether adequate police arrangements were in place during the immersion procession.
