Orissa High Court to Remain Closed for Durga Puja Vacation from October 19-26
The Orissa High Court will remain closed from October 19 to October 26 on account of the annual Durga Puja and Dussehra vacation, according to an official notification. Regular court proceedings are scheduled to resume on October 27.
Before the commencement of the vacation, October 16 will be the last working day of the court, followed by the regular weekend holidays on October 17 and 18.
To ensure that urgent legal matters are addressed during the vacation period, a Vacation Bench will function on October 23.
The bench will initially hold a joint sitting comprising Justice Sasikanta Mishra and Justice Aditya Kumar Mohapatra.
Thereafter, both judges will hear designated matters separately in their respective courts.
Meanwhile, the administrative wing of the Orissa High Court will continue to function on October 21, 22, and 23 with limited working hours from 11 AM to 3 PM to facilitate essential administrative and filing-related work.
The vacation arrangement is aimed at balancing the festive break while ensuring that urgent judicial and administrative requirements are effectively managed.
