Odisha–West Bengal Ministers Strengthen Food Supply Ties in Kolkata
Odisha’s Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister, Krushna Chandra Patra, is on a two‑day visit to Kolkata to bolster inter‑state cooperation.
He met West Bengal’s Food Supplies Minister, Ashok Kirtania, at Food Bhawan to discuss uninterrupted supply of essential commodities, particularly potatoes, and to safeguard consumer interests in both states.
Minister Kirtania assured Odisha of smooth supply chains and emphasised that the state would not face the neglect seen under previous administrations.
He praised Odisha’s welfare initiatives and pledged continued collaboration.
Both leaders highlighted their alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development programs, underscoring a shared commitment to protecting the interests of common people.
During his visit, Minister Patra also engaged with other dignitaries and officials, reinforcing Odisha’s proactive approach to regional cooperation.
