Odisha Republic Day 2026: Bhubaneswar Gears Up for Grand Celebrations

Bhubaneswar is set to host a vibrant and disciplined Republic Day 2026 celebration, with the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department spearheading preparations.

At a high‑level meeting chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma, officials reviewed arrangements to ensure the event reflects pride, patriotism, and modernity.

The Honourable Governor of Odisha will grace the main ceremony at Mahatma Gandhi Marg as the chief guest.

Plans include a meticulously organised parade, attractive decorations, enhanced seating for dignitaries, and robust security measures. To foster a patriotic spirit, Ramdhun will be broadcast across public spaces such as parks and bus stands during the early morning hours.

District and sub‑division level celebrations will receive increased funding to make them more appealing and well-organised.

Key government offices and prominent buildings will be illuminated, while live telecasts and social media streams will bring the festivities to a wider audience. Tableau displays will further showcase Odisha’s cultural richness.

Senior officials, including I&PR Director Anuj Kumar Das Pattnaik, Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Behuria, Director (Technical) Gurubir Singh, and Deputy Director Sucheta Priyadarshini, attended the meeting, underscoring the state’s commitment to seamless coordination and timely execution.

With deadlines set and responsibilities assigned, Odisha is poised to deliver a Republic Day celebration that blends tradition, discipline, and modern appeal.
