Odisha Police Tighten Crowd Control Ahead of Snana Purnima
Puri, Odisha: Inspector General (Central Range) Dr Satyajit Naik reviewed the security and crowd management arrangements at Shree Jagannath Temple ahead of the annual Snana Purnima rituals scheduled for June 29, 2026.
Accompanied by SP Prateek Singh and senior officials, Dr Naik began the inspection after offering prayers at the shrine.
The review focused on ensuring smooth entry and exit for devotees, effective crowd control during the Pahandi procession and bathing rituals at the Snana Bedi, and traffic regulation along the Bada Danda Grand Road.
Police teams will monitor key intersections to prevent bottlenecks and maintain emergency access.
Continuous CCTV surveillance will track crowd density across the temple complex, while coordination with the temple administration is expected to reinforce discipline and safety.
Odisha Police emphasised its commitment to providing a safe and spiritually fulfilling experience for lakhs of devotees, urging public cooperation with on‑duty personnel.
