Odisha Pharma Policy 2025: Rs 6,263 Cr MoUs Signed, 38K+ Jobs to Be Created
Bhubaneswar, Dec 16: Odisha has taken a decisive step toward becoming a pharmaceutical hub in eastern India with the launch of the Odisha Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Policy 2025.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi unveiled the policy at the Odisha Pharma Summit 2025, announcing a wave of investments and employment opportunities.
A total of 45 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 6,263 crore were signed, paving the way for 38,406 direct jobs. Of these, 32 MoUs are dedicated to pharmaceutical units, 12 to medical devices manufacturing, and one to a landmark industrial park.
The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stones for a Pharma Park and a Medical Devices Park in Khordha district, designed to provide world-class infrastructure for drug production and advanced medical equipment.
Highlighting Odisha’s investor-friendly ecosystem, Majhi emphasised the state’s abundant resources, including mineral wealth, three major ports, surplus power, and skilled manpower.
He assured that the new policy offers incentives for research, capital investment, infrastructure, and employment, positioning Odisha as a competitive player in the global pharma value chain.
Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain described the initiative as part of Odisha’s development-focused industrialisation strategy, aligning with India’s vision of becoming the “Pharmacy of the World.”
With these measures, Odisha is set to diversify its industrial base and create sustainable growth opportunities for its people.
