Odisha Law Minister Reviews Rath Yatra Preparations in Puri

Bhubaneswar/Puri: Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan chaired a high‑level meeting at the State Guest House to review preparations for the upcoming Rath Yatra and associated rituals in Puri.

The meeting emphasised strict adherence to the ritual schedule, crowd management, and security arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival.

Temple Chief Administrator Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee confirmed that essential materials—including chariot wood, ropes, fabrics, and ritual items—are ready.

Officials also discussed barricading, deployment plans, and awareness among police and servitors about their responsibilities.

The meeting saw participation from Law Department Principal Secretary Dr Pabitra Mohan Samal, Puri Collector Dibyajyoti Parida, SP Prateek Singh, and Daitapati Nijog leaders Ganesh Das Mahapatra and Ramakrishna Das Mahapatra.

The Minister stressed coordinated efforts among the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, district authorities, police, and servitors to facilitate a disciplined and safe celebration for devotees.
