Odisha IAS Reshuffle: 7 Officers Get New Roles, CM Office Strengthened

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Tuesday carried out a significant administrative reshuffle, transferring and appointing seven Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers to key positions across the state administration.

The move is aimed at enhancing governance and administrative efficiency in both district and state-level institutions.

As per the official notification, Dr Maheswar Swain, who was serving as Collector and District Magistrate of Nabarangpur, has been appointed as Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister.

Similarly, Pradeep Kumar Nayak, previously serving as Additional Commissioner of the Additional Revisional Court, Bhubaneswar, has been posted as Additional Secretary in the Fisheries and Animal Resources Development (F&ARD) Department.

In another key transfer, Madhusudan Dash, former Collector and District Magistrate of Nuapada, has been appointed as Additional Secretary to the General Administration and Public Grievance (GA & PG) Department.

The reshuffle also brought changes in district administration.

Anya Das, who was serving as Deputy Secretary in the Health and Family Welfare Department, has been appointed as the new Collector and District Magistrate of Nabarangpur.

Meanwhile, Madhumita, an IAS officer of the 2020 batch who recently returned from maternity leave, has been posted as Collector and District Magistrate of Nuapada.

Among the younger officers, Ashni A L has been assigned as Sub-Collector of Bhabanipatana, while Kasturi Sha has been posted as Under Secretary in the GA & PG Department.

The latest reshuffle impacts key administrative departments, including the Chief Minister’s Office, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Department, and the General Administration and Public Grievance Department, while also introducing new leadership in the districts of Nabarangpur and Nuapada.

Officials believe the transfers will strengthen administrative coordination and improve service delivery across various sectors of governance in Odisha.
