Odisha H&UD Department Signs MoU with SBIePay to Boost Digital Payments
The Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) Department of Odisha has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Bank of India (SBI) to integrate SBIePay into the SUJOG platform, enhancing digital urban governance across the state.
The agreement, signed by Shri Suvendu Sahoo (H&UD) and Shri Sushant Kumar Dash (SBI), in the presence of senior officials, including Smt.
Usha Padhee (Additional Chief Secretary, H&UD) and Shri Rakesh Yadav (Chief General Manager, SBI Odisha Circle), aims to streamline citizen services by enabling secure and convenient online payments for municipal taxes, fees, and utility charges.
Through SBIePay, citizens will have access to multiple payment options, including RuPay, Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, AMEX cards, internet and mobile banking, IMPS, UPI, RuPay Credit Card via UPI-RCC, UPI-CL, and digital wallets.
The system ensures T+1 settlement, meaning funds collected will be transferred to Urban Local Body (ULB) accounts within one business day.
Unique transaction IDs will allow transparent tracking and reconciliation, while refunds and chargebacks will be processed within seven days.
Officials highlighted that this collaboration will improve convenience, accessibility, and transparency in public service delivery, marking a significant step toward modernising Odisha’s urban governance.
