Odisha Govt Transfers 13 Senior OAS Officers in Major Reshuffle
The Odisha General Administration & Public Grievance Department has announced a significant reshuffle involving 13 senior Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officers, effective from August 25, 2026.
The move aims to strengthen administrative efficiency across key departments ahead of September.
Among the notable postings, Babita Mohanty has been appointed Special Secretary in the GA & PG Department, while Anuj Kumar Das Pattanaik will serve as Special Secretary in the Planning & Convergence Department.
Himansu Sekhar Behera has been posted as Special Secretary in the Home Department, and Kalpataru Behera takes charge as Director of Estates & Ex-Officio Special Secretary in GA & PG.
Other important transfers include Santoshi Sahoo to Skill Development & Technical Education, Manaswini Sahu to Odia Language, Literature & Culture, and Prakash Chandra Mohanty as Secretary of OUSSSC.
Several officers have also been assigned to municipal and sub-collector roles, including Paresh Kumar Nayak as Additional Commissioner of Kataka Municipal Corporation and Dayasindhu Parida as Sub-Collector of Karanjia with ITDA charge.
The directive mandates that officers must assume their new roles immediately, with no joining time or leave permitted.
Those not relieved within seven days will be deemed centrally relieved from September 1, 2026. The orders have been forwarded for publication in the Odisha Gazette.
This reshuffle is expected to inject fresh energy into governance, ensuring smoother coordination across departments such as Home, Planning, Education, Municipal Administration, and Tribal Development.
