Odisha Govt Suspends Officer Transfers Amid Electoral Roll Revision

Bhubaneswar: The Housing and Urban Development Department of Odisha has put on hold all transfers and postings of OAS, ORS, and OMAS officers working in Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).

The decision comes in light of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll across the state.

According to Notification No.14550/HUD dated May 26, 2026, the earlier transfer orders have been kept in abeyance until further notice.

The directive, signed by the Director of Municipal Administration, aims to ensure smooth coordination and administrative stability during the electoral roll revision process.

Officials clarified that the suspension applies to all transfers and postings made under the previous notification.

The move is intended to avoid disruptions in governance and maintain continuity in the functioning of ULBs during this crucial electoral exercise.
