Odisha Govt Regularizes 2023–24 Batch Junior Teachers as Assistant Teachers
Bhubaneswar: The Government of Odisha has announced the regularisation of Junior Teachers (Schematic) engaged during the 2023–24 academic session.
The School and Mass Education Department issued a notification confirming that these teachers, appointed through due recruitment, will now be absorbed as Assistant Teachers in Level‑V(A) of the Elementary Cadre.
According to the notification, the teachers will begin receiving regular pay and service benefits under the Level‑V(A) scale starting January 1, 2026.
However, the period of service rendered from their initial joining date until December 31, 2025 will continue to be treated as contractual/schematic.
This period will not count toward cadre seniority or regular service benefits.
The move is expected to benefit thousands of teachers across Odisha, providing them with financial stability and career progression while strengthening the state’s elementary education system.
