Odisha Govt Orders Major Police Reshuffle: 58 Officers Transferred

Bhubaneswar: In a significant administrative move, the Odisha Home Department has announced the transfer and posting of 58 senior police officers across the state.

The reshuffle, aimed at strengthening district policing, intelligence, and anti‑corruption efforts, includes strategic postings in tribal and sensitive regions.

Pratap Chandra Tripathy, OPS (DSP, CAW & CW, Bhubaneswar), has been appointed as SDPO, Ghatagaon in Keonjhar district.

Twelve OPS (SB) officers have been reassigned to key desks in Vigilance, State Police Headquarters, HRPC Cuttack, Commissionerate Bhubaneswar‑Cuttack, and range offices in Berhampur and Koraput.

The largest segment of the reshuffle involves 45 officers serving as Additional SPs in situ, who have now been formally posted as full Additional Superintendents of Police across districts, training institutions, Special Branch, Intelligence, Crime Branch, Lokayukta, SOG, and CAW & CW.

Several women officers have been given significant responsibilities, reflecting the state’s continued emphasis on gender inclusion in leadership.

The transfers are expected to enhance law‑and‑order preparedness ahead of upcoming challenges, with the DGP’s office monitoring immediate compliance.
