Odisha Govt Launches 15‑Day Drive to Identify Unsafe Structures
The Odisha government has initiated a 15‑day inspection campaign to identify unsafe and dilapidated buildings across the state.
Housing & Urban Development Minister Dr Krushna Chandra Mahapatra directed officials to intensify inspections and take swift action against structures posing risks to public safety.
Government buildings have already been assessed, with notices issued for unsafe ones.
The new drive expands the scope to private properties, where owners will be served notices if their structures are found hazardous.
Inspection teams will conduct detailed structural assessments, with findings to be submitted within 15 days.
Unsafe buildings will face demolition or corrective measures.
Urban Local Bodies, particularly in cities like Cuttack and Puri, will play a key role in the exercise.
