Odisha Govt Cracks Down on VVIP Info Leaks
The Odisha Government has issued a stern directive to prevent leaks of sensitive information regarding VVIP visits.
The Home Department, in a circular signed by Additional Secretary Bhabesh Kumar Nayak, instructed top police and administrative officials—including the DGP, Intelligence Director, Collectors, and SPs—to exercise strict vigilance in handling confidential details.
The move follows concerns raised by the Ministry of Home Affairs about unauthorised transmission of sensitive data, particularly instances where details of VVIP movements surfaced on social media.
The government emphasised that any breach of protocol or
Authorised sharing of such information would invite disciplinary action.
Departments have been urged to strengthen internal monitoring mechanisms and ensure that no sensitive information related to VVIP security or travel plans is shared without proper clearance.
