Odisha Govt Approves 7,664 Police Vacancies for 2026 Recruitment Drive
Bhubaneswar: In a major boost to law enforcement capacity, the Odisha government has sanctioned 7,664 vacancies across police and uniformed services.
The recruitment will be conducted by the Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission (OUSSSC), marking one of the largest hiring exercises in recent years.
The approved vacancies include 4,219 Civil Constables, 2,212 OISF Constables, 933 Sub‑Inspectors (SI) and equivalent ranks, and 300 Constables (Communication).
Earlier, SI recruitment was managed by the Odisha Police Recruitment Board (OPRB), but the responsibility has now been transferred to OUSSSC for streamlined execution.
Importantly, candidates who had already applied for SI posts under OPRB remain eligible, as all applications and data will be transferred to OUSSSC.
The move is expected to create thousands of government job opportunities for Odisha’s youth while strengthening policing infrastructure across the state.
Aspirants are now awaiting the official notification detailing eligibility criteria, exam pattern, and application dates.
