Odisha Govt: Agristack Not Mandatory for Kharif Paddy Procurement
The Odisha government has announced that Agristack registration will not be mandatory for farmers participating in the Kharif paddy procurement for 2026‑27.
Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo chaired an Inter‑Ministerial Committee meeting to review the procurement process, assuring that no farmer will be denied the opportunity to sell paddy.
Farmers can register through PACS, Common Service Centres, or assisted modes, with the registration window open until October 2026.
The Agristack platform, designed to integrate farmer data for streamlined access to benefits, has already seen over six lakh registrations.
Special guidelines are being prepared to address the concerns of sharecroppers.
In the previous Rabi season, 20.46 lakh metric tonnes of paddy were procured from 3.63 lakh farmers, with Rs 4,844 crore disbursed as MSP and input assistance.
For the current Kharif season, 94,657 farmers have registered so far, with Baleshwar district leading in enrolments.
Awareness drives are being conducted at subdivision and panchayat levels to counter misinformation and assist farmers with applications.
The government reiterated its commitment to ensuring smooth coordination among Agriculture, Food Supplies, Cooperation, and Revenue departments, emphasising that no farmer will be excluded from the procurement process.
