Odisha Governor Calls Service ‘True Humanity’ at Scouts Awards

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati underscored the value of selfless service as the highest form of humanity during the Bharat Scouts and Guides Odisha State Award Ceremony at Lok Bhavan.

Quoting “Seva Paramo Dharma,” he urged youth to embrace discipline, leadership, compassion, teamwork, and patriotism as guiding principles.

The Governor praised the Scouts and Guides movement for nurturing life skills, environmental awareness, disaster management, and civic responsibility.

Odisha currently has over 4 lakh active members, contributing to a nationwide strength of 7.5 million.

Highlighting their community impact, he noted initiatives such as cleanliness drives, tree plantation, health awareness campaigns, and emergency response efforts.

He congratulated awardees and acknowledged the role of teachers, parents, and leaders in instilling values of kindness, humility, and empathy.

Education Minister Nityananda Gond encouraged youth to continue their journey of service, while State Chief Commissioner Kali Prasad Mishra opened the programme.

Awards were presented across multiple categories, celebrating outstanding contributions.

The ceremony reinforced the message that the nation’s future rests on service‑driven youth committed to humanity and civic responsibility.
