Odisha Gears Up for PM Modi and President Murmu Visits; Extensive Preparations Underway
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has intensified preparations for the forthcoming visits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu, with top officials reviewing security, logistics, infrastructure, and public arrangements ahead of the high-profile engagements across the state.
According to official sources, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit Khordha on October 25, where he will inaugurate the Reserve Bank of India’s Greenfield Data Centre and Training Institute.
The Prime Minister is expected to arrive at Bhubaneswar Airport, travel to the project site by helicopter, attend the inaugural programme, and return the same day.
Meanwhile, President Droupadi Murmu will embark on a two-day visit to Mayurbhanj district on October 28 and 29.
During her visit, the President is scheduled to offer prayers at Maa Kichakeswari Temple and Laxmi Mandap and participate in several development and public welfare programmes.
Her itinerary includes interaction with beneficiaries and healthcare workers during a Mega Health Camp at Rairangpur Sub-divisional Hospital, addressing a public gathering, and virtually laying the foundation stone for the Indian Institute of Forest Management campus.
She will also lay the foundation stone for the restoration of Maa Kichakeswari Temple at Khiching under the PRASHAD scheme.
In another significant development, the President will inaugurate the redeveloped Rairangpur and Badampahar Amrit Bharat railway stations, highlighting the Centre’s focus on railway infrastructure and regional connectivity.
She is also expected to visit sports, educational, and skill-development facilities during the final leg of her tour.
To ensure smooth conduct of both visits, a high-level review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg was held at Lok Seva Bhawan.
Officials reviewed security arrangements, medical preparedness, transportation, power and water supply, communication systems, and media coordination.
A dedicated control room under the Home Department will monitor developments throughout the visits.
The visits are expected to spotlight Odisha’s growing role in infrastructure development, healthcare outreach, tourism promotion, and railway modernisation, particularly in Khordha and Mayurbhanj districts.
