Odisha Embarks on Major AI Education Drive
Odisha’s Higher Education Department has announced a landmark initiative to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into undergraduate and postgraduate curricula across the state.
The move is designed to equip students with future‑ready skills and foster a robust ecosystem for startups and entrepreneurship.
Two new portals have been launched to monitor academic performance and student skill development.
In collaboration with CSR Box, Nandi Foundation, OKCL, and NASSCOM, the state will roll out AI training programs for over one lakh students and teachers across arts, science, and commerce streams.
Students from 107 institutions in aspirational districts will benefit from online training in AI, digital literacy, enterprise design thinking, and project management.
Final‑year UG and PG students will also receive offline training in financial literacy, critical thinking, communication, and public speaking.
Faculty development is a key focus, with 40 teachers set to undergo a six‑day specialized AI training program at EDII Ahmedabad.
The initiative has been widely welcomed by students and educators, who see it as a transformative step toward preparing Odisha’s youth for the digital economy.
