Odisha Deputy CM Directs Tata Power to Fast‑Track Niali Grid Upgrades
Odisha Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo chaired a high‑level review meeting to address persistent power supply issues in Niali.
The meeting, attended by Niali MLA Chhabi Malik, senior ministry officials, and Tata Power representatives, focused on strengthening transmission infrastructure and improving service reliability.
Singh Deo directed Tata Power to immediately upgrade the 33KV transmission lines, modernise Air Break (AB) switches, and replace ageing distribution transformers.
He also emphasised clearing vegetation around transformers and lines to prevent outages, while enforcing strict household earthing safety standards.
Highlighting accountability, the Deputy CM warned that execution speed and quality would be closely monitored.
He announced plans for surprise inspections in Niali to verify progress on the ground, signalling a strong push for reliable electricity supply in the region.
