Odisha Day 2026: CM Majhi Announces ₹585 Cr Satyabadi Plan, Mega Projects for Puri

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi paid tribute at the reformer’s ancestral home and announced a Rs 585 crore integrated development plan for the Satyabadi region.

The plan includes Rs 495 crore for a heritage corridor and infrastructure upgrades, and Rs 90 crore for reviving Bakulban as a cultural and educational hub.

Majhi also unveiled major projects for Puri, including a Rs 1,000 crore Jagannath Museum and Library, restoration of historic temples and maths, and tourism initiatives such as the Samuka project, a world tourism centre, and a cruise terminal.

Infrastructure announcements featured Rs 80,000 crore worth of national highway works, new expressways, airports in seven districts, helipads in fifteen districts, and largers scale port and shipbuilding projects.

On the social front, the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangal Yojana was launched to support girls from weaker families with savings bonds at birth and Rs 1.01 lakh upon graduation.

New Ayurvedic and Homoeopathic medical colleges were also announced.

The Odisha Police received the President’s Colour Award for distinguished service, marking a proud moment for the state.
