Odisha CM, Naveen Patnaik Send Rath Yatra Greetings as Puri Prepares for Grand Festival
Puri is abuzz with devotion and anticipation as the annual Rath Yatra begins, marking the grand journey of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra from the Jagannath Temple to the Gundicha Temple.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended heartfelt greetings to devotees, urging them to celebrate the festival with discipline and adherence to rules.
He emphasised the spiritual significance of the occasion, calling it a rare opportunity to witness the deities on their majestic chariots.
Leader of the Opposition and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also conveyed his wishes, highlighting the values of devotion and surrender.
He prayed for Lord Jagannath’s blessings to bring peace and prosperity to the people of Odisha.
To ensure smooth celebrations, Odisha Police have deployed over 13,000 personnel, supported by CAPF units and senior IPS officers.
Surveillance has been strengthened with 473 CCTV cameras, 65 LED screens, and extensive traffic arrangements.
Communication support includes permanent and temporary mobile towers, while the Indian Coast Guard and Navy remain on alert to monitor coastal routes.
The Rath Yatra, a nine‑day spiritual journey, continues to unite millions of devotees in faith, discipline, and celebration.
