Odisha Charts Mayurbhanj Roadmap, Reviews Rath Yatra & Reforms
Bhubaneswar, July 15: Chief Secretary Anu Garg chaired a high‑level meeting at Kharavel Bhavan to review Odisha’s July achievements, Rath Yatra preparations, and Mayurbhanj’s development roadmap.
The meeting highlighted Odisha’s recent strides, including MoUs with UAE’s International Holding Company and Adani for aluminium projects, green energy collaborations with Japanese firms, and the launch of the Odisha Deep Sea Mission.
The Odisha Police were commended for their success against left‑wing extremism, while new rail connectivity such as the Puri–Koraput Express was flagged as a milestone.
Special focus was placed on ensuring flawless coordination for the ongoing Rath Yatra, which began with Gundicha Yatra and will conclude on July 27.
For Mayurbhanj, a 25‑point roadmap was unveiled, covering road widening, flood protection, irrigation, drinking water schemes, power infrastructure, tourism promotion, and cultural heritage preservation.
Initiatives include developing Rairangpur as a model town, expanding education and skill centres, and promoting Similipal honey and tribal cuisine.
The Chief Secretary also reviewed Ease of Doing Business reforms under Deregulation 2.0 and the Jan Vishwas 2.0 Bill, aimed at simplifying approvals and boosting investor confidence.
Women’s empowerment was spotlighted through the Subhadra – Laxapati Didi program, designed to strengthen women entrepreneurs, expand e‑commerce linkages, and integrate self‑help groups into flagship schemes.
Concluding the session, Garg emphasised technology adoption, strict timelines, and seamless inter‑departmental coordination to accelerate Odisha’s journey toward becoming a developed state.
